Tool Hints:

1) Use aerosol Lemon Pledge as the Fast-Tool lubricant. There is not other product that will provide just the right amount of slipperiness. Shake the can first before using. Spray Lemon Pledge on both the indented small end of the boot and on the installation cone.

2) Do not substitute other products for Lemon Pledge. Products that are not as slippery will cause the Fast-Boot to hang up on the cone. Products that are more slippery will cause the Fast-Boot to go beyond the end of the cone. Other lubricants may cause the boot to tear. Use only Lemon Pledge for trouble free Fast-Tool installations.

3) Use sand paper or emery cloth to sand out any nicks, cuts or gouges on the cone. Nicks, cuts or gouges will cause a Fast-Boot to tear when it passes over the cone.

4) With any of the banding tools (Premium, Standard, Hex) you will need to bring the tool back over the buckle of the clamp to create a bend in the clamp tail. This bend will hold the tension until you can pound down the tail and the buckle ears as shown in the instructions.

5) Use tin snips to trim the CV clamp tail is you are not using a Premium Banding Tool or a Standard Banding Tool.

6) After you have finished the installation wipe down the Fast-Tool components and return them to their storage box. The cone can be cleaned with brake fluid if it becomes dirty and the boots start to stick.
